Why / How / How Much
Why ? - Recognising the difference
Dame Carol Black’s Review of the health of Britain’s working–age population, the recent Boorman report on NHS health and wellbeing, the growing number of charters and awards schemes to encourage and highlight mindful employers – interest and concern about wellbeing in the workplace is climbing higher on employer agendas practically on a daily basis.
As public and private sector budgets get tighter and demands on staff performance increase, it makes commercial sense to recognise the difference in expectations being set for your workforce, and the increases in personal pressure which employees might come up against in meeting them.
As an employer, being mindful of promoting work/ life balance and wellbeing in the workplace can make a significant difference in reducing sickness absence or staff turnover and in enhancing productivity and performance.
The creation of a culture of wellness in your organisation is a positive move towards achieving overall business goals and missions.
Realising the difference - programme planning, execution and management
The team at UK Healthzone can help you to understand the specific organisational risks and priorities in relation to wellbeing in the workplace.
You may choose to seek an in depth assessment and make full use of our consultancy service contact us, or you may already have undertaken a review of your general requirements as part of your HR planning. Either way, we employ a clear and structured approach to programme planning, execution and management. We understand that the nature of benefit is dependent upon the type of your organisation and the programme to be put in place. We believe that the success is down to planning and execution.
Our approach - Programme planning / execution
- Consider openly with your team the scope and severity of need
- Review site restraints / feasibility of dedicated session space
- Take an overview of timetable/diary restraints
- Consider the best approach to engage employees through appropriate communications, incentives and social marketing techniques.
- Agree a set of key performance indicators which serve to evaluate the process, outcome and impact
- Design, implement and operate to an agreed budget, a wellbeing programme to work towards delivering a difference.
Our approach – management
- Employ clear feedback systems, simple and ensuring confidentiality
- Undertake regular evaluation
- Review development requirements
- Assist in identifying benefit data to help with financial impact modelling
Budgeting for the difference – How much will it cost?
We believe that our services are competitive and represent great value for money. We do not charge any one-off set up fees or initial consultation fees, and leave you the flexibility to choose whether your organisation would like to pursue any in depth consultancy with us on the wellbeing agenda. We advocate regular investment to secure maximum benefits. Our key focus is on successful delivery.
Modular programmes to meet your organisation’s need and budgets
We keep costs down all round, by creating scalable programmes which can be reviewed and refined on a regular basis to keep your wellbeing at work strategy working for you.
Experience has led us to offer our on-site massage as standard. This is the first building block in all our wellbeing programmes. This is because it has wide appeal, is easy for practically all office environments to accommodate and is totally scalable to meet the needs of organisations of all sizes.
Other sessions from the UK Healthzone portfolio are then offered alongside this service to complete the wellbeing programme. Sessions are ‘packaged’ in blocks of six, but there is no limit to the number of blocks which can be put in place as part of one programme.
For example: your organisation may wish to offer on-site massage twice a week, run a nutrition course every six months and develop sessions in Pilates or Yoga on a ongoing weekly or fortnightly basis.
