Massage

small_What is Massage?

Massage is a hands-on treatment working to release tension in various muscle groups. It is a non-participatory therapy which aims to relax and relieve built-up tension, often considered  particularly relevant to desk-based employees using computers, but with potential to deliver significant wellbeing benefits to the widest of audiences.

Our on-site Massage programmes

We deliver massage sessions on-site using our special portable massage chair.

All our on-site massage treatments are
  • offered on a one-to-one basis only
  • undertaken by a fully qualified practitioner
  • scheduled in 30 minute slots
  • bookable in advance
  • bookable on an ad hoc basis, as the employee feels appropriate to their personal needs. There is no requirement to follow a set of treatments, although the practitioner may advise in certain cases that regular treatment could be of specific additional benefit.
  • suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
  • available on a taster session basis

Personal preparation

As with all our classes and sessions, we request that all attendees complete our brief health questionnaire and take the opportunity to highlight and discuss any concerns with the practitioner in confidence before commencing any therapies. All records are held by UK Healthzone in strictest confidence and this personal health information is not made available to the employer.

The massage is given through the clothes, so besides loosening a collar or taking off shoes the employee can just leave his / her work-station and attend the session without additional preparation. We tend to ask employees simply to bring themselves and a desire to take a little time out.

Site requirements

For the comfort and privacy of your employees, we prefer to run this programme in a separate room wherever possible. We believe this provides the best results, but are always happy to discuss alternative options.

Evaluation

We tailor our individual massage treatments to the needs of your employees. However, we are always aware that our service to them is intrinsically linked to the needs of your organisation. We gather valuable observations about our services and their benefits through direct employee feedback. This helps us to maintain and develop the wellbeing programmes in which your organisation chooses to invest.
